Brett Lee Knocks England Over – Again!
Well having just watched Brett Lee steamroller the England batting line up, I thought it best to start the new atthecrease.com cricket blog in a typical negative English cricket style.
Looking through the scorecard congratulations must once again go out to Ravi Bopara for getting yet another start and then crumbling for just 26 runs. A warm handshake must be extended to Eoin Morgan for his classy 13 from 26 balls which leaves us all wondering why the in form Allister Cook hasn't been drafted back into the team, especially as we are resting Paul Collingwood....
In Collingwoods defence he has played 77 days of cricket since Jan 1st.
It's pretty easy to see whats wrong with the current England batting line up in one day cricket. They lack; character (excluding strauss and Luke Wright), skill (excluding Strauss), the ability to convert 30+ score into hundreds and the ability to pace an innings. Oh and the ability to bat their overs out.
When Brett Lee is on top of his game there are few better fast bowlers in the world. Lets all take a moment to be thankful that he didn't play a single ashes test.
Cheers Ricky!
