Today is the England vs Australia 6th ODI and we can all look forward to another beating from the Aussies. Can we defend 299 can we balls. What kind of score do we need to run the Aussies close? There is serious problems with the England ODI side at the moment and if they don't get something going soon the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 is going be a complete washout where England are concerned.

For once you can't fault the batsman, 299 is a good score on any wicket for any team in a 50 overs game. It's hard to have a go at the England bowlers when players like James Anderson and Stuart Broad have bowled an insane amount of overs in international cricket over the last 12 months. Ryan Sidebottom looks to be slipping out of the England team and lets face it we all thought that would happen sooner than it had. Bresnan isn't really good, showing more with the bat than the ball of late.

Thoughts drift to Onions and Harmison as the ICC Trophy draws every closer....
